Twenty-ninth COVID-19 related death reported

Today, the Oregon Health Authority announced the twenty-ninth COVID-related death of a Baker County resident. “Oregon’s 4,247th COVID-19 related death is a 61-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive on Sept. 21 and died on Oct. 19 at St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.”

Health Department Director Nancy Staten said, “I send my condolences to her family and friends, my heart goes out to them. This report weighs heavily on us all.”

To protect the privacy and well-being of the family, and to maintain compliance with health information privacy regulations, no further information about the individual will be released by the County. We encourage everyone to be respectful as these families in our community are grieving.
