Thirtieth COVID-19 related death reported

Today, the Oregon Health Authority announced the thirtieth COVID-related death of a Baker County resident. “Oregon’s 4,458th COVID-19 related death is a 66-year-old woman from Baker County who tested positive on Oct. 22 and died on Oct. 28 at her residence. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.” 

Health Department Director Nancy Staten said, “The Health Department offers our condolences for their family and friends, we are so sorry. This leaves a big impact in our county.” 

To protect the privacy and well-being of the family, and to maintain compliance with health information privacy regulations, no further information about the individual will be released by the County. We encourage everyone to be respectful as a family in our community grieves.
